   Transylvania. Scholar. He studied the Gypsies in the 19th century and published a number of important books, including Vom wanderenden Zigeunervolke [About the Roaming Gypsy People; 1890] and Die Sprache der Transilvanischen Zigeuner [The Language of the Transylvanian Gypsies; 1884].
