Borrow, George
(1803-1881)
   England. Author and linguist. He lived with Gypsies in England and visited Spain to learn the language of the Gypsies there. He then translated St. Luke's Gospel into Spanish Caló. Borrow also wrote several works on the Gypsies, in particular The Bible in Spain (1843), Lavengro (1851), and The Romani Rye (1857).
