Bratinka Report

   In October 1997 the Czech Republic government adopted the report by Pavel Bratinka, minister without portfolio, entitled On the Situation of the Romani Community in the Czech Republic. It addressed a number of issues including discrimination and education. In particular it proposed amending the Citizenship Law of 1992 to enable more Gypsies of Slovak origin living in the Czech Republic to obtain Czech citizenship.
