- Quiltmakers' clan in Kotel, Bulgaria. Their name comes from the sound made by a mallet carding wool for quilts. They are also known as Musikantsi (Musicians) and Katkaji-as they use the word katka (here) in their dialect as opposed to the majority of Bulgarian Gypsies who say kate. Bernard Gilliatt-Smith described in the Journal of the Gypsy Lore Society their dialect, which resembles that of Sliven and others in eastern Bulgaria.
