Minority Studies Society
   Bulgaria. Est. 1992. Cochairs: Elena Marushiakova and Veselin Popov. The society was founded in 1992 as a center for studying the minorities in Bulgaria. As the situation of the Gypsies is the most complicated, this topic has been the main focus of the group's work. Its aims include popularizing Gypsy culture, stopping discrimination, and researching the history and culture of the Gypsies of Bulgaria. The society publishes the journal Studii Romani. Members have taken part in a number of international projects, such as the History Group once based at the Centre de Recherches Tsiganes in Paris.
