Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights
   (ODIHR)
   Est. 1992. An institution of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). Founded in 1992, its aim is to promote human rights by assisting participating states to build democratic societies. Its field of work includes the Romanies, and it organized the first Human Dimension Seminar on Roma in the OSCE Region in Warsaw as early as 1994. It also published for some time a newsletter for the Contact Point for Roma and Sinti Issues, which works within ODIHR. In October 2003 ODIHR brought together 200 participants in Vienna for a supplementary meeting during its eighth Human Dimension Implementation Seminar in order to boost the OSCE's Action Plan for Roma and Sinti.
