Roma Parliament

Roma Parliament
   1) The Roma Parliament set up at the fifth World Romany Congress. It has met several times, putting forward proposals for the democratization of the International Romani Union's statutes and for reconciliation with its main rival, the Romani National Congress.
   2) A Hungarian institution that has been very dynamic in Romany politics since 1989, perhaps as it was built up by local organizations. It protects and promotes the interests of Roma through negotiations with the government during the development of new legislation for minorities.
