St. George's Day

St. George's Day
This day is celebrated by both Christian and Muslim Gypsies on 5/6 May according to the Orthodox calendar.
Scholars have seen relics of the Indian Baisakhi (New Year's Day) rituals in the celebrations - for example, the custom in Skopje, Macedonia, of going to a river and bringing back from it bottles of water.
