Sarajevo Conference

Sarajevo Conference
(1986)
A scientific conference of Gypsy and non-Gypsy experts was held in what was then the peaceful town of Sarajevo, Yugoslavia. Speakers included the veteran scholar Rade Uhlik, who was living nearby. The conference was particularly remarkable in that Romani was used as a major language either as the language of papers or for translation. The papers of the conference were edited by Milan Sipka and have been published.
