About the Author
   Donald Kenrick is retired from a career as an organizer of adult education during which he pioneered basic education courses for Gypsies and training for those working with them. He was at one time honorary secretary of the UK Gypsy Council and has been an official interpreter for the Romani language at many international meetings. He has written extensively on the history, languages, and social situation of the Gypsies/Romanies.
   Honors include the Premio Hidalgo and awards from the Hiroshima Foundation and Bulgarian Romani Baxt. His publications include Gypsies under the Swastika (1995),Moving On: The Gypsies and Travellers of Britain (1998), and Gypsies: From the Ganges to the Thames (2004).
