Caravan Sites Act of 1960

Caravan Sites Act of 1960
United Kingdom. This Act introduced new planning controls on caravan sites in England and Wales. As a result, it became difficult to open new sites, and many existing sites were closed if they had not been operating long before 1960. The Act gave local authorities the power to build sites for Gypsies, but very few did so.
