Evens, George Bramwell
(1884-1943)
   England. Religious leader. Known as "Romany," he was the son of Tilly Smith-the sister of Rodney Smith-and Salvation Army lieutenant George Evens. Reverend Evens was a broadcaster of BBC Children's Hour programs in Manchester from 1933 until his unexpected death in 1943. His wife, Eunice Evens, published a biography of her husband entitled Through the Years with Romany.
