Gypsy and Traveller Law Reform Coalition

Gypsy and Traveller Law Reform Coalition
United Kingdom. Est. 2002 (as Traveller Law Reform Coalition). Coordinator until March 2006: Andrew Ryder. A pressure group comprising Gypsies, Irish Travelers, New Travelers, and non-Gypsies. It has been campaigning for Parliament to pass the proposals in the Traveller Law Reform Bill. A further aim was to get the government to address the Gypsies' accommodation needs, principally by placing on local authorities a duty to provide or facilitate site provision. The deputy prime minister to some extent has done this with his Circular 1/2006 but Gypsies in the coalition have expressed their dissatisfaction with its lack of progress.
