Malla, Jimenez Cerifino
(El Pele)
(1861-1936)
   Spain. Originally a cattle dealer, in 1926 he became a brother in the Third Order of the Holy Friars. At the outbreak of the civil war, he defended an imprisoned priest and was himself thrown into prison. He refused the offer of freedom and was shot in August with other brothers of the Order. His beatification took place in 1997.
