Oswiecim
(Auschwitz)
Town in Poland that was the site of the largest Nazi concentration camp, Auschwitz. In the town of Os-wiecim itself, there was a small Gypsy population after 1945, but in 1981 local Poles organized a pogrom against them and most then left the town.
