Vaida Voevod III

Vaida Voevod III
(Ionel Rotaru)
   France. Political activist. In 1959, he was elected to the title Voevod by members of the Romanian Ursari tribe. In 1960, he founded the Communauté Mondiale Gitane (CMG). His aims included setting up an independent state, Romanestan. After the French government banned the CMG, he became less active.
