- European Roma (and Travellers) Forum
A proposal of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe put forward by Finland, originally in 2001. Anne-Marie Nyroos chaired a working party (GT-ROMS) on the project, which came into effect in 2004. The aim is to set up a body to represent all the Gypsy organizations. It will meet twice yearly and have an office in Strasbourg, France. A ceremony to mark the signing of the partnership agreement between the Council of Europe and the European Roma and Travellers Forum took place in Strasbourg on 16 December 2004. Seventy elected delegates from 33 countries came together in that same town in December 2005 for the forum's first full meeting.
